New Lumen Edge v4: 11 new regions

Inference at the speed of light.

Lumen runs your models on 18,000 GPUs across 42 regions and sends every request to the nearest warm replica. No cold starts. No capacity planning. Just answers, fast.

Why we built Lumen

The fastest model in the world is useless if it lives three oceans away from the people using it. So we put yours everywhere, and kept it warm.

01 / Bring any model

Your weights. Our light.

Open weights, fine-tunes or your own architecture. Point Lumen at a Hugging Face ID or a container and it compiles the model for every chip it lands on.

02 / Run it everywhere

42 regions. One endpoint.

Six continents, one URL. Every request lands on the closest warm replica, so a user in Lagos never waits for a round trip to Virginia.

Lumen watches demand in every region and moves capacity to where traffic is rising, minutes before it arrives. You pay for tokens, not idle cards.

Everything between your model and a million users.

Routing, autoscaling, observability and guardrails ship in the box. You write the model. Lumen handles the planet.

Sub-50 ms, on every continent

Anycast routing picks the nearest warm replica for every request. Latency is a property of the platform, not of where you deployed.

How it works

From model ID to planet-scale in an afternoon.

Step 01

Connect your model.

Paste a Hugging Face ID, push a container, or upload raw weights. Lumen benchmarks it on six chip types and picks the cheapest one that meets your latency target.

  • Automatic quantisation with quality checks
  • OpenAI-compatible API out of the box
$ lumen deploy meta-llama/Llama-4-70B
→ Fetching weights done (3.2 GB, 4.1 s)
→ Benchmarking H200, B200, MI325X …

Step 02

Go global by default.

Every deployment is multi-region from the first request. Lumen keeps replicas warm where your users are, and lets the rest of the planet sleep.

  • Anycast endpoint with regional pinning
  • Data residency controls per project
Step 03

See every millisecond.

Each request is traced from edge to token. Find the slow prompt, the expensive tenant, or the region that needs more headroom, in one click.

Questions

The things engineers ask first.

Still curious? Our engineers answer in the community Slack within the hour.

Yes. Change the base URL and the key, and every OpenAI SDK works unchanged: chat, completions, embeddings, tool calls and streaming.

No. Zero retention is the default. Requests live in memory for the length of the call and are never logged, sampled or used for training.

We forecast traffic per region from your history and keep the right number of replicas warm, with weights pre-staged on local NVMe. Scaling up means attaching a GPU, not downloading a model.

Yes. Residency rules are set per project. EU-only, US-only or a custom list of regions, enforced at the edge before a request is routed.

Health checks run every 200 ms. A failing region is drained and its traffic moves to the next nearest replica, typically in under 400 ms, with no change to your endpoint.
